Product Management and Outsourced Development
How does product management change when the development team is out-sourced? Should product managers be part of the out-sourced team or should they remain in-house?

We have found that the client needs to have solid product management capabilities inhouse to own the product direction, vision, and details. The outsourced team should have a Product Owner (from Agile) that is helping to interpret the customer vision into development requirements. Key here is that the customer takes responsibility for their own user stories, mockups, workflows, etc. as there is a lot of rework (cost and time delay) associated with designing something, going for UAT and then finding out that's not what the customer had in mind.
